ISNET/ SEAD WSW WEBINAR ON CONTRIBUTIONS OF WOMEN IN SPACE; 4 OCTOBER 2021

As announced by World Space Week Association, the theme of 2021 was “Women in Space”. Therefore, to kick off WSW activities, there was no better way than to start the week by holding webinar on ‘Contribution of Women in Space’. The main focus of the webinar was to discuss how the benefits of space can reach women and girls, and ensure they have an equal and active role in the areas of space science, technology, innovation and exploration. During the webinar the participants had the opportunity to engage with panelists, whose main aim was to promote gender equality and women empowerment in the space area in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality). The distinguished panelists/ speakers for webinar were:

Ms Aisha Jagirani from APSCO, Dr. Dalia Elfiky from NARSS, Ms. Madiha Talha from SUPARCO, Dr. Rasha Hussien from NARSS and Ms. Aseel Aljadda from Jordan. The training was streamed on facebook and attained 1,088 people reached with 463 engagements
