Governing Body (GB)

Role: Supreme decision making body

Composition: President + Reps of member states + Rep of COMSTECH

Frequency: Meets at least every 2 years

Executive Council (EC)

Role: Formulates programs, budget and regulations

Composition: President + 3 elected member states

Current Members: Jordan, Türkiye & Pakistan – Elected in year 2019

Tenure: Re-elected after every 4 years

Evaluation & Steering Committee (ESC)

Role: Advice GB on all technical matters and facilitate execution of technical projects at ISNET forum

Composition: ED ISNET + 3 elected memeber states

Current Members: Jordan, Türkiye & Pakistan – Elected in year 2019

Tenure: Re-elected after every 4 years

Secretariat

Composition: President, Executive Director & Administrator

Role: Implements decisions, manages working of network and finances

Governing Body

The Governing Body of ISNET is the supreme decision making body, headed by President ISNET. It comprises of representatives of the Member States of the Network and a representative of COMSTECH constitute the Governing Body of the Network. The quorum for the meeting of the Governing Body, including its special sessions, consists of one-third of the Member States. All powers rest with the Governing Body which elects the member of Executive Council, admits a member in the Network, considers and confirms the reports for submission to the COMSTECH and the Host Government, and approves the programme and budget of the Network. It also approves the appointment of Executive Director on the recommendation of the President of Network.

The Governing Body meets at least once in every two years at a place and on a date decided by the Executive Council of the Network.

Executive Council

The Governing Body elects the members of the Executive Council and is comprised of President of the Network as its ex-officio Chairman and representatives of three other elected Member States. The members of the Executive Council hold office for a period of four years.

The Executive Council frames regulations for proper management of the Network; formulates the programme, proposals and action plans for the Network and submits them to the Governing Body for consideration and approval; as well as prepares and submits annual Report to the Governing Body for its approval and submission to the COMSTECH and the Host Government. The current members of the Executive Council are Pakistan, Jordan and Türkiye.

Evaluation and Steering Committee (ESC)

In order to facilitate execution of technical projects at ISNET forum, ‘Evaluation and Steering Committee (ESC)’ was proposed and approved by Governing Body during its 12^th meeting held at Jordan in year 2019. The composition and responsibilities of ESC are as following:-

• It is a 3 member committee headed by Executive Director ISNET, having selection procedure similar to Executive Council. The current members of the ESC are Pakistan, Jordan and Türkiye.
• ESC is responsible to execute life cycle of project after approval of Governing Body including short listing, categorization (core and optional activity) and execution.
• Advises Governing Body on all technical matters.

Secretariat

The Secretariat of the ISNET is headed by President ISNET. Executive Director ISNET manages ISNET Secretariat and is responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Governing Body and the Executive Council. Administrator ISNET reports to Executive Director and manages working of network and its finances.

The Headquarters of the ISNET is located within the premises of Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) as offered by the Government of Pakistan.
