Acquiring Observer Status at ISNET

Member States, Governmental, Non-governmental as well as Inter-governmental organizations that intent to establish close working relations and a firm basis for cooperation with ISNET may apply for becoming Observer to ISNET. This initiative aims to enable such entities to collaborate with ISNET in the field of space sciences & technology by providing access to wide range of capacity building programs and related activities. Currently, Regional Center for Remote Sensing of North African States (CRTEAN) is Observer of ISNET.
Organizations applying for Observer status need to complete the prescribed application form and provide the requested supporting documents to ISNET Secretariat.
Each application for observer status shall be circulated by ISNET Secretariat to its Member States. If no objections are raised within two months, the applicant Institution shall become Observer without any further action by the date of expiration of the two-month period.

Benefits of Acquiring Observer Status at ISNET
• Observers would be kept abreast of all the latest development and initiatives taken by ISNET
• The observer states/ organizations can participate in ISNET’s initiatives/ capacity building activities including trainings/ seminars/ conferences/ workshops as well as technical projects organized by ISNET or its Member States. As such, Observer will have to bear the expenditure for participation in such activities. However, subject to availability of funds, sponsorship may be provided by ISNET in some cases
• The observers would be eligible to contribute as participants, organizers and co-sponsors of above mentioned activities
• OIC countries who have not yet joined ISNET may first closely observe ISNET without any financial implication
• Opportunity for non OIC countries to participate in ISNET as observer
• The observers on invitation of ISNET Secretariat would be able to participate in Governing Body Meetings, without the right to vote, at their own expense.
• Possibility to advertise their activities, products and services through ISNET’s website, social media page and announcement emails to member states
• Observers will have an opportunity to have entity logo shown on ISNET’s web site with link to its website
