GEO’S VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM ON INTEGRATED COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT(ICZM)/ MARINE SPATIAL PLANNING (MSP); 2 MAY 2022

The GEO virtual symposium was organized on 02 May 2022 on the theme of “EO in support of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) and Marine Spatial Planning (MSP)”. This session explored how EO can support ICZM and MSP, through reviewing the concepts and policy drivers, surveying available tools, and understanding user requirement inputs. On behalf of ISNET, expert from Pakistan, participated in the event and described the use of integrated space technology applications for ICZM. The nominated expert also underscored that climate change is threatening coastal communities around the world. He highlighted that lessons learned from the use of space technology applications may be useful to other coastal regions in implementing ICZM.
